The historic tanner's house is heated by a modern new gas central heating system (installed Dec 2019), so that the holiday home with history and modern living comfort welcomes its guests from all over the world.
The house's three floors are reached via a steep staircase. The 111m² house contains two bedrooms accommodating up to eight people. The ground floor bedroom has two single beds, while the upper floor bedroom has a double bed. From there, you can access the open sleeping loft with two additional sleeping spaces (two mattresses). The cozy living area, complete with a TV and wood-burning stove, also features a sofa bed. The wood-burning stove is perfect for enjoying a cozy evening with a glass of wine by the crackling fire. Adjacent to the living area, with its exposed timber framing, is a seating area with a corner bench and a well-equipped kitchen, ideal for preparing a delicious dinner. A travel cot and highchair are provided for children. For the youngest guests, there is a changing mat and a toilet seat. A selection of books, children's games, and board games completes the amenities. For your convenience, the two bathrooms are conveniently located next to the bedrooms. The ground floor bathroom has a bathtub, toilet, and sink. The washing machine and dryer are also located there. The bathroom in the attic has a very large shower (1.4 m x 1 m), a toilet and a wooden washbasin with sink.
In the living room, a wood-burning stove with soapstone provides cozy warmth, as do the historic windows, which were restored in 2015 and fitted with insulating glass.
Another highlight of the facilities is the handcrafted sauna on the terrace and the small romantic garden for a unique holiday in a historic building.

The unusual holiday apartment is a half-timbered house dating from 1783 and is located in a quiet area in the old town of Alpirsbach, by the gently flowing Kinzig river.
It is a listed building and has been lovingly and painstakingly restored by hand in recent years. Natural building materials were used to preserve the structure. All the floors are made of wooden planks or natural stone. Together with the wood-paneled walls, the exposed timber framing, and the coffered ceiling in the living room, this creates the particularly cozy atmosphere of the listed building. Almost all the furniture in the holiday apartment consists of handcrafted, unique pieces.

The Gerberhaus is situated directly on the Kinzig River in the quiet old town of Alpirsbach. The monastery is just 200 meters from your historic residence.
