How many participants are optimal for the seminar objective, what are the minimum and maximum numbers?

We offer seminar accommodations for various group sizes from 4 to 30 participants (for very large groups, we split the accommodation between two holiday homes). Our tip: book a holiday home with a bit of extra space for your group size right from the start.

What prior knowledge do you bring with you?

Do you have experience with the seminar design methods you have planned?

How do participants recognize the success of the seminar for themselves?

What are potential obstacles to seminar success and how can they be minimized?

For open seminars, the crucial question is how to fill them with the right participants. The following questions often help:

• Who are your dream participants?
• Where do these people search for the seminar content you offer? It's often worthwhile to invest in search engine optimization for your training topics in a timely manner.
• Are there any multipliers? How can they be addressed?
• How can referral marketing from participants of previous seminars be used?
• Is your seminar topic suitable for a press article? Don't just think about the major media outlets, but also blogs and online newsrooms. Our tip: allow sufficient lead time!
• Which paid online advertising options, such as AdWords or Facebook, are worthwhile and at what price?

Helpful questions for planning the individual seminar phases

• What kind of introduction is suitable for the topic of the seminar unit? Is there a way to make the central message tangible through a story, a game, or a movement activity?
• What prior knowledge do the participants have? If this varies, how can this be addressed?
• How can I use and expand upon this prior knowledge? How can others benefit from it?
• How do I make the core content visible and tangible (e.g., flip charts, PowerPoint sheets, seminar games, etc.)?
• Which methods/tools are suitable for the respective learning content? How can I adapt them to participant preferences?
• How do I structure the methods so that as many learning channels as possible are addressed alternately? (Keyword: different learning styles)
• Are there sufficient exercise sessions and physical activity?
• How can I offer opportunities to try out and apply the seminar content in practice?

• It's worth preparing your presentation materials (flipcharts, PowerPoint) with some extra time. Don't forget: it's best to save the files multiple times on different storage devices
• Prepare work assignments for group work etc. and pack the necessary materials (see checklist for the seminar kit)
• Prepare materials for the seminar games
• Prepare a sufficient number of practical examples for each topic
• Communicate what participants should bring (ideally with a printable checklist)
• Print seminar materials/handouts

Tip: A travel printer/lightweight printer is often helpful, especially during longer seminars

• What is the room layout in the holiday home? (Tip: A little something extra on the pillow or fresh flowers will create a "welcome" feeling)
• Is the furniture arranged according to the plan?
• Did you air out the room again shortly before arriving?
• Does the technology work with all cables and connections?
• Do you have all your work documents ready?
• Do you have all the names ready and can you match them to faces?
• Do you remember the daily schedule/seminar structure? (briefly review it beforehand)
• Is a welcome drink ready?

Questions during the seminar

• How can I use the expectations survey to fine-tune my seminar planning?
• How can I find out if all seminar participants are feeling well?
• If not: have I prepared solutions, e.g., for alternative seminar methods?
• How can I ensure that everyone actively participates?
• Do the participants experience the seminar's central theme remaining tangible, both in terms of content and emotional impact? Do I, as the seminar leader/trainer, experience it the same way?
• How does my planning relate to the needs of the participants? Do I need to deviate from my original seminar plan?
• How can I make intermediate results clearly visible?
• Regarding individual consultations: is there a need for them? When can these be conducted effectively?
• When are discussions fruitful, and when is it advisable to limit them?
• How can I structure breaks to maximize their restorative effect?

• In what form would I like to request feedback about the day?
• What went well during the seminar and can be improved?
• What didn't go so well? What are the reasons, and how can I use this information to further develop the seminar?
• At what points is it advisable to modify the original seminar plan?
• Have all learning objectives been achieved? If not, how can they be taught on the remaining days?
