This adventurous path leads to the highest mountain in the Northern Black Forest, the Hornisgrinde (1163 meters), where a magnificent view awaits as a reward for the short but challenging climb. We continue uphill along the narrow, technically easy forest path towards the Hornisgrinde. After about 20 minutes, we meet the standard trail coming up from Mummelsee , which we follow for the last few meters to the Hornisgrinde observation tower. Once on the high plateau, an unforgettable view awaits us, stretching across the Rhine Valley to France and far into the Vosges Mountains. The path continues towards the Bismarck Tower, which was restored a few years ago and is now freely accessible. Here, too, a magnificent view opens up before us, stretching across the entire Hornisgrinde mountain and deep into the Black Forest.

The actual circular route, however, leads us across the numerous raised bogs of the Hornisgrinde towards the Dreifürstenfels. On a secured wooden boardwalk, surrounded by marshy grasslands, we reach the Dreifürstenfels and, at the same time, the highest point in Württemberg after another 15 minutes. A truly special moment, especially for those of us from Swabia.
From here, the circular route leads us back towards Mummelsee, which we reach after about 30 minutes. We are now back at the starting point of our tour.
Our tip: Freshly baked wood-fired bread is available at the parking lot. A typical Swabian treat, and uniquely delicious!
