Do you want the Black Forest to be at your feet?
Do you want to stand at the highest point in Baden-Württemberg?
Here we have the right answer for you…
A must for any Black Forest holiday and certainly an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. Anyone who wants to get to know the rugged Feldberg in all its facets will love Feldbergsteig trail Tip: You can also book this tour as a night hike on the Feldberg .
Our tour begins at the "Haus der Natur" (House of Nature) directly at the foot of the Feldberg mountain. Parking is available nearby. At the information board at the Haus der Natur, where we can explore various exhibits about the Southern Black Forest Nature Park, we'll get an overview of our adventurous hike . From here, we follow the Feldbergsteig logo, which will guide us throughout the entire circular hike. We follow the moderately ascending path for about 20 minutes until we reach another signpost. We follow the signs towards the Bismarck Monument/Feldberg Tower/Feldberg Summit and are now on a narrow, steeply ascending hiking trail that leads us in several switchbacks to the Feldberg Mountain Rescue Hut in another 15 minutes. From here, we can already see our next destination, the Feldberg Tower, which we reach after a few minutes. The Bismarck Monument rises steeply in front of us. Several benches invite us to take a short break.

Hiking, mountain biking, and enjoying nature and Black Forest hospitality in the Feldberg region of the Black Forest. You can experience all this in our special and luxurious holiday home in Feldberg, complete with sauna, whirlpool, fireplace, and more.
From the Feldberg Tower, which is open from the beginning of May to the end of November, we have a magnificent view in all directions. If the weather is kind to you, an unforgettable Alpine panorama will unfold before you.
Anyone who loves Black Forest ham should definitely not miss the ham museum inside the tower.
A gentle path leads us further towards the Feldberg summit with its well-known weather station. After an almost level walk, we reach the highest point in Baden-Württemberg – the Feldberg summit at an altitude of 1,493 meters – after 20 minutes.
An information panel provides us with a wealth of information about the different cardinal directions. Here, too, we have an unobstructed view of the vast expanse of the surrounding Black Forest mountains. In summer, it's easy to lose track of time up here, while in autumn, the occasional gust of wind makes a longer stay virtually impossible.
Our tip: It's best to check the current weather conditions before starting your tour.

Further along the trail, three different rest stops await us: the Wilhelmer Hut, the Zastler Hut, and the Baldenweger Hut. Choose which one you'd like to stop at before we embark on the most beautiful part of our circular hike.
The actual Feldbergsteig trail begins at the Baldenweger Hut. A unique path winds through dense forests and over numerous bridges. An unforgettable hiking experience and a true reflection of our unspoiled Black Forest region.
After about 45 minutes we reach the Raimartihof – a working mountain inn not far from the idyllic Feldsee lake. In the rustic courtyard, everyone will find the perfect snack. Whether you prefer hearty fare or something light and sporty, all your needs will be met here.
After a short walk, we reach the picturesque Feldsee lake . Peaceful and surrounded by dark fir trees, it lies before us. Here we can take one last breath before tackling the final leg of our hike. With a climb of 300 meters, we face a strenuous final push. We quickly ascend via numerous switchbacks, leaving the basin in which the Feldsee is nestled. Our path leads directly back to the starting point of our tour.
Anyone wanting to experience the Black Forest at its most beautiful and highest should embark on the unforgettable Feldbergsteig adventure. The numerous traditional inns along the way make this circular hike a truly authentic Black Forest experience. A perfect blend of nature, adventure, and our Swabian culinary delights!
