The area around Lake Titisee and the Feldberg mountain is very popular with winter sports enthusiasts for a well-rounded winter holiday . Besides snowshoeing, you can also enjoy downhill skiing here. The area around the Feldberg is arguably the largest ski resort in the entire Black Forest.

This is also the highest mountain in the low mountain range, reaching up to 1500 meters. Here you can easily explore the nature park for a winter hike or enjoy skiing down the slopes. The Feldberg region is considered the most important winter sports region in the entire Black Forest every year.

For those who find solitude challenging, the city of Freiburg, located right next to its local mountain, the Schauinsland, is a great option to visit in the south. Freiburg offers plenty to see and do even in winter; it's the warmest region in Germany, yet still boasts numerous ski resorts.

In Titisee-Neustadt you will find a toboggan run and for the really brave there is the Hochfirst ski jump, which is used for ski jumping.

Further south on the Schluchsee is the town of Lenzkirch with its toboggan run and numerous cross-country ski trails, totaling 2000 km in length, as well as three of the 200 ski lifts located throughout the Black Forest.

Winter sports are also very popular here. Besides the well-known winter sports, you'll usually find snow tubing or rides in a snow groomer, which can be a lot of fun.
