Anti-aging for the skin: delicious inspiration for a wellness getaway in the Black Forest

If you've booked our wellness holiday home in Enzklösterle, you've undoubtedly come across a fruit that's on everyone's lips among wellness enthusiasts: the blueberry. This blue plant pigment is richer in antioxidants than any other fruit and is the perfect complement to the "Black Forest Spa," as our English guests sometimes affectionately call our houses.

The beta-carotene it contains is a precursor to vitamin A, which is particularly beneficial for stressed eyes.

The tannins in the blue wonders have cancer-preventive and anti-inflammatory effects, which helps prevent cardiovascular diseases.

The best way to use them is from both inside and outside at the same time, and to enjoy them directly in our holiday homes with fireplaces, along with crackling warmth.

Enzklösterle's blueberry mask

Ingredients

Two tablespoons of fresh blueberries

Two tablespoons of organic quark

A teaspoon of Black Forest honey

Blend everything with an immersion blender (or mash with a fork). Apply the beauty mask generously to your face and décolletage, leave on for 15 minutes, and then wash it off or enjoy it as a treat!

Enzklösterle's Rosemary and Blueberry Cocktail for 2 people

This cocktail is a real immune system booster and a top recommendation for a wellness holiday during the summer holidays, when the blueberries are perfectly ripe!

100g blueberries (fresh or frozen in the colder months)

Juice and zest of ½ an organic lemon

A pinch of vanilla

2 tablespoons fir honey

Two sprigs of rosemary

Black Forest Wellness with Honey

Anyone wishing to create their own luxury wellness hotel in the Black Forest will find an excellent partner in our world-famous fir or forest honey. Its beneficial effects on skin, hair, and immune system not only enhance the effectiveness of the holiday home sauna, but also transform an ordinary day into a "day spa" experience, inside and out.

Honey and sage mask for radiantly clear skin

Honey's antibacterial properties quickly eliminate impurities! Those prone to pimples and blackheads can therefore pamper themselves particularly effectively with this mask during their wellness weekend in the Black Forest.

Ingredients

2-3 sage leaves (have anti-inflammatory properties)

1 tablespoon of honey

1 tablespoon of organic low-fat quark

1 teaspoon of healing clay

Blend the ingredients together and apply to a cleansed face. Leave on for approximately 20 minutes and rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. The mask is particularly effective after a sauna session in a holiday home sauna and a honey-salt scrub.

Quark and honey mask for dry skin

Those who tend to have dry skin can turn their Black Forest wellness holiday into a skincare highlight with this mask.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons of quark

2 teaspoons of wheat germ oil (or alternatively, olive oil)

1 tablespoon of honey

Mix all ingredients, apply generously to face and décolleté, and leave on for about 20 minutes. Then remove, enjoy a snack, and rinse with lukewarm water.

Black Forest honey and salt scrub after the sauna in the holiday home

Ingredients

3 tablespoons of sea salt

2 tablespoons of honey

Mix the ingredients until a smooth paste forms. For dry skin, add a tablespoon of olive oil. After a sauna session at your holiday home with a sauna, or a honey-milk bath in a hot tub, gently massage the scrub onto your face and body using circular motions. It works best in the shower so that any residue can be rinsed away immediately. (For this reason, the scrub is less suitable for use inside the sauna.) Important: Avoid the area around your mouth and eyes to prevent the salt from stinging your mucous membranes. The result is incredibly soft skin that is particularly receptive to the nutrients in face masks.

Tip: Want to give the gift of a spa getaway? Prepare a pretty jar with this scrub and attach the gift certificate. Our gift certificates are available here.

Cleopatra goes Blackwood Forest: Wellness – Bad Deluxe

Have you ever bathed in a Cleopatra-style whirlpool in a holiday home? Anyone who loves velvety-soft skin should definitely add this ancient beauty secret to their list for a wellness weekend in the Black Forest.

Ingredients

One liter of whole milk with the highest possible fat content

Half a cup of honey.

Warm the milk and slowly stir in the honey until completely dissolved. Then pour the milk-honey mixture into the bathwater/whirlpool, slip in, and enjoy the pampering experience: Milk has a moisturizing and skin-firming effect. For sensitive skin, the casein soothes irritations. The honey not only smells wonderful but also has an antiseptic effect on blemishes, provides the skin with valuable vitamins, and locks in moisture. Stay in the 37-degree bath for up to 20 minutes.

Tip:

Your skin will absorb the care products particularly well if you massage them beforehand with a sisal glove or a bath brush during your pampering weekend at your holiday villa.

You can make your Cleopatra bath even more pampering with a little sea salt. And with a few drops of lavender, it becomes your ideal moonlit bath in our luxury holiday home with a hot tub. This outdoor bathtub is also a real highlight for wellness during a winter holiday. Gazing at the stars and the snow while relaxing in a steaming tub – for us, that's a luxury that puts many a wellness hotel to shame.

The hair treatment of the water woman from Mummelsee

You're all probably familiar with pictures of mermaids whose hair flows gleaming over the rocks where they've settled. We don't know exactly what they did to achieve their magnificent hair. But perhaps the mermaid from Mummelsee owes her beautiful hair to the delicious Black Forest honey.

Pack for shiny, healthy mermaid hair

Ingredients

  • An egg yolk
  • Two tablespoons of olive oil
  • A teaspoon of honey

Mix all the ingredients together and massage the mixture into the lengths and ends of your hair. Then wrap a pre-warmed towel around your head, put on some music, and let the hair mask work for 20 minutes. Afterward, simply rinse it out. This is also one of our recommendations for a spa weekend during a bachelorette party. We promise: the bride will be positively glowing!

Cosmetics for men: A wellness short break with Alpirsbacher beer, inside and out

Dutch Michel's Beer Bath

We don't know if our famous legendary figure, "Michel the Dutchman," had a wellness holiday apartment with a whirlpool or bathtub in the middle of his forest. But one thing we can assure you: for someone who, like him, spends all day uprooting trees, hops and malt definitely belong in the bath! Hops have a calming effect, and the B vitamins in beer are soothing for rough skin. Especially, of course, if your loved one can be persuaded to join you in the tub during your pampering weekend.

Ingredients

3 liters of beer – nothing else

Simply pour it into a warm bath and dive right in! If you like, you can test the cold drink internally beforehand to ensure it's of high quality. You can't be too careful with that. (Of course, in moderation, so your circulation doesn't get dizzy in the bath – obviously.)

Tip: A beer bath is a real warmer and is especially recommended for a wellness holiday in November or other cold months. If you feel a cold coming on, a few sprigs of thyme and a few drops of pine needle oil in the bath will also help.

Nail mask with beer – finger dexterity for a wellness short break in southern Germany

What do women notice about men when it's not an outrageously sexy grin, their shoes (honestly – it happens!), or a nice backside? That's right: well-groomed hands. Therefore, every man vacationing in the Northern Black Forest shouldn't miss the opportunity to treat himself to this hand care treatment with Alpirsbacher beer. Ingredients

  • Eight tablespoons of Alpirsbacher
  • Beer Four tablespoons of olive oil
  • Four tablespoons of apple cider vinegar

Mix all the ingredients, put them in small bowls, relax in front of a fireplace in your holiday home, put your hands in, and let it soak in for 10 minutes. Rinse your hands to avoid leaving greasy fingerprints. Of course, you can drink the rest of the beer after all that stress. You've earned it!

Beer and avocado face mask after the sauna

Anyone who has booked group accommodation with a sauna shouldn't miss the opportunity to pamper their skin afterward. There's hardly a better time during a wellness holiday when your skin is so receptive to care. And hikes in all kinds of weather on the Feldberg, the Belchen, around Lake Titisee, or in any of the other beautiful natural spots in the Black Forest can often really take their toll on your skin. This affordable luxury mask will revive weather-beaten and even party-weary men's skin (and women's, of course, too).

Ingredients

An avocado (ripe)

A tablespoon of honey

A tablespoon of wheat beer

One tablespoon of apple cider vinegar

Mix all ingredients, apply to pre-cleansed skin and leave on for 20 minutes. Then remove and rinse with lukewarm water.

Full quiff – hairspray with Alpirsbacher beer

Yeast and hops are rich in B vitamins, as well as niacin, biotin, and folic acid. You can buy them at a high price – but you don't have to! A cool blonde or spicy dark beer also gives hair strength, makes it manageable, and provides a healthy shine.

Honey adds extra volume and firms the structure. The beer stabilizer doesn't clump and can be easily brushed off. Once dry, the typical beer smell is no longer noticeable. So don't worry, you won't smell like you spent the night in a "Boiz," as we Black Forest locals call our pubs.

Ingredients

75 ml dark beer or malt beer

½ tsp liquid honey

5 g silk protein

20 g of pure alcohol

Let the beer boil for about 5 minutes, then cool to approximately 30°C. Add the remaining ingredients and pour the hairspray into a spray bottle. If you don't have, can't get, or don't want silk protein, simply omit it. And that's it! It's that easy!
