The historical furnishings are harmoniously combined in the historic holiday home with modern holiday requirements such as free Internet access with WLAN and a hand-made sauna.
The historic tanner's house is heated by a modern, new gas central heating system (installed in December 2019) so that the holiday home with history and modern living comfort welcomes its guests from all over the world.
You can reach the three floors of the house via a steep staircase. On the total of 111m 2 there are two bedrooms for a maximum of 8 people. There are two single beds in the ground floor bedroom and a double bed in the attic. From there you can reach the open sleeping loft with two additional sleeping spaces with 2 mattresses. There is also a sofa bed in the cozy living area with TV and fireplace. There is a fireplace here where you can spend a cozy evening with a glass of wine by the crackling fire. Right next to it with its open framework, the seating area with corner bench and the well-equipped kitchen invite you to enjoy a delicious dinner. For the children there is a travel cot and a high chair. For the very little guests there is a changing mat and a toilet seat. A selection of books and children's and board games rounds off the offering. For holiday comfort, the two bathrooms are right next to the bedrooms. The ground floor bathroom has a bathtub, a toilet and a sink. The washing machine and dryer are there. The bathroom in the attic has a very large shower (1.4 m x 1 m), a toilet and a wooden vanity unit with a sink.
In the living room, a fireplace with soapstone provides cozy warmth, as do the historic windows, which were restored in 2015 and provided with insulating glazing.
Another feature highlight is the hand-made sauna on the terrace and the small romantic garden for unique monument holidays.

The unusual holiday apartment is a half-timbered house from 1783 and is quietly located in Alpirsbach's old town on the gently babbling Kinzig river.
It is under special monument protection and has been lovingly and painstakingly restored by hand in recent years. Natural building materials were used to preserve the building structure. All floors in the rooms are made of wooden planks or natural stone. Together with the wood-clad walls, the visible half-timbering and the coffered ceiling in the living room, the particularly homely atmosphere of the monument is created. Almost all of the furniture in the holiday apartment is handmade and unique.

After an eventful day in the Black Forest, take a few sauna sessions in your private outdoor sauna, then eat in one of the excellent Alpirsbach restaurants within walking distance and enjoy the crackling fire in the historic walls of the “Gerberhäusle” with a glass of wine. The Gerberhaus is located directly on the Kinzig River in the old town of Alpirsbach and is very quiet. The monastery is only 200 m away from your historic home. There are very good restaurants and all the shops you need within a few minutes' walk. You can also reach the Black Forest with hiking trails and mountain bike routes in just a few minutes' walk.
Only 3 km from Alpirsbach. On foot you can hike the rafters' path, visit the Schenkenburg and the old rafters' town of Schiltach. Or visit a very special museum with the Aquademie.
