Are you an enthusiastic mountain biker and looking for an unforgettable experience in the Black Forest? Then you've come to the right place in Freudenstadt... The highlight for all mountain bike fans in Freudenstadt is the mountain bike Bundesliga route, ! Whether you're a professional or a beginner, every driver gets their money's worth here. All technically demanding sectors can be easily avoided without having to take major detours.
The trail, which begins directly at the Hofgut Bärenschlössle manor house, offers everything a mountain biker's heart desires. Rooted paths, technically demanding bends and jumps, as well as one of the longest “pump and jump” sectors in Germany. The grand finale takes place in the technically demanding and 50° steep “North Shore” sector, which requires absolute skill and ability.
Just a few meters from the Bärenschlössle car park, we find the first signpost and an information board that informs us about the upcoming trail. On the first (and only noteworthy) climb, we overcome 177 meters in altitude until our previously technically unchallenging path meets a well-developed forest path.
Following the signs, after a short descent and a jump, we find ourselves directly in the intricate, sometimes tricky first sector “Voba Drop & Dual-Line” . Different routes offer technically demanding uphills as well as slightly flatter routes. After a few meters we reach one of the highlights of our trail. The 2nd section “Pump and Jump it” , with a 300m long pump & jump system, which is considered one of the longest of its kind.
Whether hard and crisp or just super flowing - the route here at the latest puts a grin on our faces. The further route takes us through initially dense bushes directly into the 3rd sector “Queens Garden” . The largest natural rock garden in Germany! Jumps and technically demanding passages characterize this approximately 300m long downhill sector. The driver decides for himself how demanding the route is.
At the end of the Rock Garden we have a great view of the surrounding Christophstal, directly above the Bärenschlössle farm. Here we can take a last breather before we head to the grand finale of the 4th sector, “The Queen”! The largest North Shore facility in Germany was adventurously and uniquely incorporated into the 50° steep slope surrounded by Black Forest firs. After a few tricky hairpin bends, the rest of the route plunges inexorably over roots, stones and partly difficult terrain into a final flowing single trail, which leads us to a wide forest path at the end. From there we reach our starting point after a good 500m.
Conclusion: A great, well thought-out route, four technically demanding and interesting sectors, as well as a trained eye for detail when laying out the trail, make the Bundesliga route in Freudenstadt unique. An absolute must for every ambitious mountain biker or anyone who might want to be one!
We say: The perfect mix of Black Forest, adventure and sporting challenge!
