It is the landmark of Schenkenzell. Along with Hohengeroldseck Castle, it is one of the oldest castles in the Kinzig Valley. You can enjoy a pleasant hike up to the castle and afterwards have a delicious pizza in the pizzeria.

The tomb of Saint Luitgard is located here. For this reason, hundreds of thousands of pilgrims have flocked to Wittichen since the 16th century to seek strength and solace in prayer. The Luitgard Festival takes place annually in Wittichen on the second Sunday in October. After the solemn service in the baroque monastery church, a procession in honor of the monastery's founder winds its way through the Wittichen Valley. The monastery museum lives up to its name in two ways. Firstly, it is situated within the monastery grounds of the charming Wittichen Valley, 5 km from Schenkenzell; secondly, its exhibits come almost exclusively from the monastery itself, which was once considerably larger.

What is a zipline ? A zipline, also called a flying fox, is a cable stretched across the valley, which you ride using a harness, helmet, and a special pulley. High ropes courses also offer similar experiences, but not at this height and length. The longest single zipline is an incredible 570 meters long and over 80 meters high – a unique experience in Germany! In total, you'll travel along 1.6 km of steel cable across seven lines at speeds of up to 60 km/h! The experience is unbelievable! And the best part is: it's really easy; almost anyone can try it! The group is accompanied by a guide who explains everything along the circuit.
