Anti-aging for the skin: delicious inspiration for a short wellness vacation in the Black Forest

If you have booked our Enzklösterle wellness holiday home, you will certainly have stumbled upon a fruit that is on everyone's lips among wellness fans. We're talking about blueberries. The blue plant pigment is richer in antioxidants than any other fruit and is a perfect addition to the “Black Forest Spa”, as our English guests sometimes affectionately call our homes.

The beta-carotene it contains is a precursor to vitamin A, which is particularly good for stressed eyes.

The tannins in the blue wonders have cancer-preventing and anti-inflammatory effects, which prevent cardiovascular diseases.

It's best to use them inside and out at the same time and enjoy the crackling warmth in our holiday homes with fireplaces.

    Enzklösterle's blueberry mask

    Ingredients

    Two tablespoons of fresh blueberries

    Two tablespoons of organic quark

A teaspoon of Black Forest honey

Mix everything with the hand blender (or mash with a fork). Apply the beauty mask generously to the face and décolleté, leave on for 15 minutes and wash off or snack on!

Enzklösterle's rosemary and blueberry cocktail for 2 people

This cocktail is a real immune system booster and a top recommendation for a wellness vacation during the summer holidays when the blueberries are really ripe!

    Ingredients

100 g blueberries (fresh or frozen in the cold season)

Juice and zest of ½ organic lemon

    A pinch of vanilla

    2 tbsp pine honey

    Two sprigs of rosemary

    Mineral water to top up

Mix the blueberries, honey, lemon zest and lemon juice, vanilla and a few needles of rosemary in the blender/with the hand blender. Top up with mineral water and garnish with a sprig of rosemary in each glass.

    Black Forest wellness with honey

If you want to create your own luxury wellness hotel in the Black Forest, you will find an excellent employee in our world-famous fir honey or forest honey. Not only does it enrich the effectiveness of the holiday home sauna with its effect on the skin, hair and immune system, it also turns a normal day into a “day spa” from the inside and out.

Honey-sage mask for radiantly clean skin

Honey quickly eliminates impurities thanks to its antibacterial qualities! Anyone who is prone to pimples and blackheads can use this mask to pamper themselves particularly effectively during their wellness weekend in the Black Forest.

    Ingredients

2-3 sage leaves (have anti-inflammatory effects)

    1 tablespoon honey

1 tablespoon of organic low-fat quark

    1 teaspoon healing clay

Puree the ingredients together and apply to cleansed face. Leave on for about 20 minutes and rinse carefully with lukewarm water. The mask is particularly effective after a sauna session in the holiday home sauna and a honey-salt peeling.

Quark and honey mask for dry skin

If you tend to have dry skin, you can turn your Black Forest wellness vacation into a care highlight with this mask.

    Ingredients

    2 tablespoons of curd

2 teaspoons wheat germ oil (alternatively olive oil)

    1 tablespoon honey

Mix all ingredients, apply generously to face and décolleté and leave on for about 20 minutes. Then remove, snack and rinse with lukewarm water.

Black Forest honey-salt peeling after the sauna in the holiday home

    Ingredients

    3 tablespoons sea salt

    2 tablespoons honey

Mix the ingredients until a smooth paste is formed. If you have dry skin, you can add a tablespoon of olive oil. After a sauna session at the holiday homes with sauna or a honey-milk bath in the hot tub, gently massage the peeling into the face and body in circular motions. It works best to use it directly in the shower so that anything that sticks can be washed away straight away. (For this reason, peeling is less suitable inside the sauna) Important: generously avoid the area around the mouth and eyes so that the salt does not burn the mucous membranes. The result is skin that is soft to the touch and absorbs nutrients from masks.

Tip: Do you want to give the gift of a wellness holiday? Prepare a pretty jar with this scrub and hang the voucher on it. Our gift vouchers are available here.

Cleopatra goes Blackwood Forest: Wellness – Bath Deluxe

Have you ever bathed in a Cleopatra hot tub in a holiday home? If you like velvety-soft skin, you should definitely put this old beauty recipe on your list for your Black Forest wellness weekend.

    Ingredients

One liter of whole milk with the highest possible fat content

    Half a cup of honey.

Warm the milk and slowly stir in the honey until it is completely dissolved. Then add the milk-honey mixture to the bath water/whirlpool, let yourself slide in and enjoy the skin pampering: milk has a moisturizing and skin-tightening effect at the same time. Casein soothes irritations for sensitive skin. The honey not only smells pleasant, but also has an aseptic effect on skin imperfections, supplies the skin with valuable vitamins and binds moisture. Stay in the 37 degree bath for up to 20 minutes.

    Tip:

The skin can absorb the care particularly well if you massage it with a sisal glove or a bath brush beforehand during your holiday villa pampering weekend.

You can make your Cleopatra bath even more nourishing with a little sea salt. And with a few drops of lavender it becomes your ideal moonlight bath in our luxury holiday home with hot tub. This outdoor bathtub is also a real highlight for wellness on a winter holiday. Looking at the stars and the snow in a steaming tub - for us, that's a luxury that makes many wellness hotels pale.

The hair treatment of the water woman from Mummelsee

You are all probably familiar with the images of mermaids with their hair flowing brilliantly over the rocks on which they have perched. We don't know exactly what they did for their hair. But the beauty from Mummelsee perhaps also owes her beautiful hair to the good Black Forest honey.

Pack for shiny, healthy mermaid hair

    Ingredients

    • An egg yolk
    • Two tablespoons of olive oil
    • A teaspoon of honey

Mix all ingredients and massage the mixture into the lengths and ends. Then wrap a preheated towel around your head, turn on the music and leave the hair mask on for 20 minutes. Then simply rinse. By the way, this is also one of the recommendations for a wellness weekend at a bachelorette party. We promise: the bride will shine with her hair!

Cosmetics for guys: Wellness short vacation with Alpirsbacher beer inside and out

    Dutchman Michel's beer bath

We don't know whether our famous legendary figure “Dutch Michel” had a wellness holiday apartment with a whirlpool or bathtub in the middle of his forest. But we can assure you of one thing: if you tear up trees all day like him, you definitely have some hops and malt lost in the tub! Because hops have a calming effect and the B vitamins in beer flatter rough men's skin. Especially, of course, if your loved one can be persuaded to slip into the tub with you during the pampering weekend.

    Ingredients

3 liters of beer – nothing else

Simply add it to the warm tub and enjoy! If you want, you can test the cold drink internally for quality beforehand. You can't be careful enough. (Of course, in moderation, so that the circulation in the tub doesn't go limp - that's clear)

Tip: As a real warmer, the beer bath is particularly recommended for wellness holidays in November or other cold months. If a cold is approaching, a few sprigs of thyme and a few drops of spruce needle oil in the tub will also help.

Nail mask with beer – sleight of hand for a short wellness vacation in southern Germany

What do women look for in men if it's not the outrageously sexy grin, the shoes (honestly - it happens!) or a worth seeing underside? That's right: well-groomed hands. That's why every man on vacation in the northern Black Forest shouldn't miss the opportunity to use this hand care product with Alpirsbacher beer ingredients

    • Eight tablespoons of Alpirsbacher
    • Beer Four tablespoons of olive oil
    • Four tablespoons of apple cider vinegar

Mix all the ingredients together, pour into bowls, sit in front of the fireplace in a holiday home with a fireplace, put your paws in and let it work for 10 minutes. Rinse your hands to avoid leaving greasy fingers behind. Of course you can drink the rest of the beer after the stress. Then you deserve it!

    Beer-avocado mask after the sauna

Anyone who has booked group accommodation with a sauna should not miss the opportunity to do something for their skin afterwards. In comparison, there is hardly a time during a wellness holiday when the skin is so receptive to care. And hikes in wind and weather on the Feldberg, the Belchen, the Titisee or all the beautiful natural places in the Black Forest can often really put a strain on the skin. With this affordable luxury mask, weather-beaten and even party-weary men's skin will be perked up (and women's skin too, of course).

    Ingredients

    One avocado (ripe)

    A tablespoon of honey

    A tablespoon of wheat beer

One tablespoon of apple cider vinegar

Mix all ingredients, apply to pre-cleansed skin and leave on for 20 minutes. Then remove and rinse with lukewarm water.

Totally great – hair fixer with Alpirsbacher beer

Yeast and hops are rich in B complex vitamins as well as niacin, biotin and folic acid. You can buy it expensively - but you don't have to! A cool blonde or spicy dark color also gives the hair power, makes it grippy and ensures a healthy shine.

Honey gives additional volume and strengthens structure. The beer setting agent does not stick and can be easily brushed out. After drying, the typical smell is no longer noticeable. So don't worry, you won't smell like you've spent the night in the “Boiz”, as we Black Foresters call our bars.

    Ingredients

75 ml dark beer or malt beer

    ½ tsp liquid honey

    5g silk protein

    20 g spirit of wine

Let the beer boil for about 5 minutes and then cool to about 30°C. Then add the remaining ingredients and pour the hair setting product into a spray bottle. If you don't have, don't get, or don't want silk protein, leave it out. Bang! As simple as that!
