Leisure and gastronomy in Freudenstadt in the Black Forest

Freudenstadt - pure relaxation on the heights of the Black Forest

At the end of the Black Forest High Road, at an altitude of 730 m, lies the spa and seaside resort in the middle of the northern Black Forest. You can spend your free time beautifully here. The district town with 24,000 inhabitants was founded in 1599 by Duke Friedrich I and is best known for having the largest market square of all German cities. The city, designed like a mill game, was destroyed at the end of the Second World War, but was then rebuilt true to the original. The typical arcades of the market houses invite you to stroll, and the 350 hectare nature park forest in the south of the city delights hikers. The spa and congress center are the center of the city. Water lovers will find fun in the Panorama Bath. And after hours on your feet, you'll be happy to come back to your cozy accommodation and enjoy the rest of the day cooking, playing or taking a relaxing bath. Further information about individual accommodation in the Black Forest can be found on the website www.belvilla.de.

    The surroundings are magnificent.

Due to its central location, Freudenstadt is the ideal starting point for smaller or larger tours in the area. Our neighbor France awaits in the west, with its Alsace region that delights even the most spoiled of sweet tooths. Places like Strasbourg or Colmar, St. Odile's Castle or the Schlumpf Museum, there is something to visit for every taste. The ship lift in Saint Louis-Arzwiller, the Hoh Königsburg or the Eco Museum in Ungersheim have already inspired numerous visitors. In the south, Lake Constance beckons, the Rhine Falls in Schaffhausen or the island of Mainau are great excursion options. In the north is Karlsruhe, Heidelberg and Speyer, all places that deserve a longer stay. It's also not far to Basel in Switzerland, Switzerland is always worth a visit.

Of course, local gastronomy does not have to hide from its foreign colleagues, as the cuisine in the south of our home country is finding more and more loyal fans. Well-founded restaurateurs have made the Black Forest a gourmet address that is not afraid of comparisons. The infrastructure of the small district town is also in harmony, and a shopping trip in the city is always attractive. The golfers among the spa guests also indulge in their hobby here; the golf club, which was founded many years ago, offers sport in the finest nature.
