We spent two wonderful autumn weeks at the Gerberhaus in the small Black Forest town of Alpirsbach. The cottage is in a very quiet location, yet shops, restaurants, and inns are just a few minutes' walk away. There's even a small, cozy art-house cinema in the former refectory of the monastery, showing a selection of films. The surrounding forests with their diverse network of hiking trails are also easily accessible.
The cottage itself offers everything you need for a carefree holiday in a very personal and welcoming atmosphere. We and our two dogs also felt very welcome.

The house was very well-maintained; we were traveling as a group and had a great weekend.

We were so excited about our house. We'd seen photos beforehand, but you know how often those aren't accurate.
With this house, everything is perfect. It's a wonderful blend of old-fashioned and modern. There are so many mementos throughout, and it feels like it was lived in until just yesterday. We felt so warmly welcomed. It's a wonderful house.
