As a family of four, we were the first holidaymakers to stay in the shingle cottage, and we simply have to say it was a thoroughly successful holiday.

The furnishings are comfortably "old-fashioned", spiced up with modern decorative highlights (inspired by the Black Forest, super cute and detailed), everything has been thought of, nothing is missing to enjoy a relaxing and restful holiday.

The cleanliness was TOP! Great large spacious bedrooms, a generous and TOP-NOTCH living and dining area, a comfortable sofa, a more than adequately equipped kitchen, provided us with a great home for 14 days in the Schindelhäusle.

Especially for families with children, the Schindelhäusle is highly recommended. Toys, games, art supplies, and a small play kitchen ensure that children are entertained and comfortable during their stay. A changing table, travel cot, highchair, bed rail, and much more help parents relax and unwind, as everything they need is readily available.

Beautiful destinations for excursions, nature and nearby attractions (summer toboggan run, Vogtsbauernhof, Europapark about 1.5 hours away) made our holiday something very special.

It's a quiet street with very friendly neighbors, and children are warmly welcomed. There's a beautiful view, two terraces, and a garden shed with everything you need to enjoy peaceful evenings (chairs, a picnic table and benches, badminton sets, and much more).

Downstairs you'll find the laundry room, with everything a mother could wish for 🙂 Washing machine, dryer, clothes rack and much more.

We have already booked for next year and are looking forward to spending 3 weeks in the Schindelhäusle.

A very pleasant short stay. The house is very clean and the kitchen is very well equipped. The garden is very well maintained and lovely. For hikers, it would be very helpful to have one or two detailed maps of the area, but we would love to come back!

We had a truly wonderful holiday! Apartment 2 is very tastefully and comfortably furnished, so we felt right at home. It looks even better than in the photos! Our immediate neighbors hardly ever used their balcony, so we could sit outside alone every day and enjoy the magnificent view! A dream come true! Just a heads-up about the final email regarding arrival: the access details and the code for the door are only at the very end. Unfortunately, I missed this because I overlooked the email in the pre-departure rush. Perhaps this information could be moved to the beginning of the email in the future, as this seems to have happened to other travelers as well.

The Vogtshof Rottweil offers a wonderful setting for a relaxing getaway. In the historic building with its romantic garden, we felt transported back in time.
For people with limited mobility, the house, with its sometimes high door thresholds and uneven wooden floors, might be a bit challenging. However, we found this charming, and it effectively encouraged a slower pace of life.

The house was spotlessly clean upon our arrival, and the furnishings offer everything (including appliances and technology) one could need these days. The (kitchen) cabinets and dressers are older, in keeping with the style, and some are a little worn, but still perfectly functional.

Our boxer dog also seemed perfectly at home in and around the house, and particularly enjoyed the large, secluded garden with its plenty of shady spots. For the children, there's a slide, swings, a sandbox, and several pedal vehicles.

There are many great places to visit in the area, all easily accessible by car. For example, we visited Hohenzollern Castle. Rottweil's old town is also beautiful and inviting. Our children (10 & 8) were also thrilled with the large outdoor swimming pool.

I would particularly like to mention the absolutely uncomplicated and unobtrusive management. After a brief arrangement via WhatsApp, the key to the house was left for us at the open house, and the return was just as straightforward. During our stay, the manager stopped by twice briefly to water the plants, but we hardly noticed him. No intrusion, no curiosity, absolutely pleasant – we really appreciated that.
