Where should I begin? With delicious morning coffee on the upper terrace, listening to the stream, watching the wildlife in the meadow opposite, or waiting for the sun to climb over the hilltop? Or with a midday nap under the fragrant peach tree on the cozy garden sofa (the fountain babbles merrily in the background)... while my husband prepares something delicious to eat? The kitchen is perfectly equipped :o)
Or should I tell you about the cozy dinner as the sun sends its last rays into the living room?
Upon arrival, we were greeted by a lovingly prepared house, right down to the firewood and a small bouquet of flowers on the table. Beautiful hiking trails all around, and a relaxing bath in the evening. Well, we didn't use the fireplace or sauna, but at 30 degrees Celsius, we were sweating anyway :o)
This time we were alone, but we'll be back! The house is ideal for getting together with family, chatting, and hiking.

A lovely, quiet cottage situated on the Kinzig River in the heart of Alpirsbach. The building has been lovingly renovated. The two steep staircases take some getting used to. It's a bit of a shame that the terrace doesn't offer an unobstructed view, but on the other hand, it's also very private.

As a group, we decided to take a short break in the Black Forest.

We were more than happy with our accommodation. Everything went smoothly, and we were able to make calls without any hassle. Thanks to the thoughtfully compiled information leaflet, we were able to choose our destinations in advance. The accommodation is exactly as pictured. The garden with its hot tub was fantastic. Shops were within easy walking distance. We felt completely at home.

The log cabin is spacious and well-suited for large groups. The sleeping areas are located in the open upper floor, so closing the door for individuals who want to go to bed early isn't possible. However, the open design also fostered a great group experience and led to many shared activities in and around the cabin. We made extensive use of the small sauna. It comfortably accommodated four people, and six could probably fit if they enjoyed snuggling up.
The kitchen equipment was adequate. Luckily, we had brought our own grater and peeler. Thanks to our capable fellow travelers, operating the wood-burning stove in the kitchen was also straightforward. The video doesn't provide specific instructions on this (open the ventilation by holding the control knob vertically and close the door when lighting the fire to prevent smoke).
Both during booking and while in the cabin itself, we were repeatedly and emphatically reminded that we absolutely had to observe the quiet hours, otherwise we would face fines. This initially deterred us somewhat, but we were able to enjoy lovely evenings on the sun deck and didn't feel restricted by the necessary consideration for others. The neighboring house is quite close, and walking on the sun deck is somewhat noisy. However, this didn't become a problem. We improvised a sunshade using tarpaulins we had brought with us, allowing us to have breakfast together on the sun deck in the mornings.
Hikes in the woods, which we started right behind the house, offered fantastic views and wonderful afternoons in nature. The dogs we brought along also felt comfortable. There are two additional beds on the ground floor of the house, which can be used as a sofa during the day and served as sleeping quarters for the dog owner at night, so the dogs couldn't get upstairs.
In summary, we had a great time, cooked and laughed a lot together, and will remember the vacation fondly. The cabin is probably not suitable for boisterous parties with music and loud laughter, as the noise can easily travel to the neighboring house, which is very close. The small extra house on the property for two more people, which was rented to other visitors during our stay, is also very close, and the visitors would probably feel disturbed by parties on the sun deck.
