Almost everyone knows the saying: “It ends like the Hornberg shooting.” But what exactly happened? From the city center all the way up to Hornberg Castle, stories are told about how it could have happened. Back in 1564. There are 14 stops along the way and picnic options. There is a great view of the city on the Schlossberg. You can see the viaduct of the Black Forest Railway and the view extends into the Gutach valley. There is also the multimedia presentation on the “Hornberger Shooting”. The path is well suited for strollers. The “little Landsknecht” guides children through the path in a playful way. If you purchase “Hornberger Kugeln” for a small nominal fee at the “Kramerkarren”, in the tourist information office, in the “Schloss Hornberg” hotel or in the Waidele Nature Café, there are additional opportunities to play! “Hornberger Kugel 2€”. The route takes 1.5 hours and starts in Bahnhofstrasse.

Germany's highest waterfalls ! A natural spectacle, the waterfall cascades 163 m down the Gutach. Display boards about fauna and flora accompany you along the way. The falls can be visited all year round and are particularly worthwhile when there is meltwater. Or even if you are icy in the winter.

The Black Forest Railway Adventure Trail starts at Triberg train station, has 16 stations and there are two stages: Lower and Upper Adventure Trail. Each path is 6 km long. You can connect both. Due to the alpine character of the route for children aged 6 and over. No stroller is possible. An exhibition in the train station and installations there are the start of the journey.
