    Magic land with fairytale path

If you are traveling with your children, the little ones will definitely like the Losburger Zauberland. There you will also find a small lake and the Kinzig source. Six exciting stories are told for children on the fairy tale trail. The Kinzig is the river that gave the beautiful Kinzigtal its name. From Magic Land you then begin your hike on the raftsman's path.

    Vogtei Tower

Or you can hike to the Vogteiturm, which is a 20-minute walk from Lake Kinzig. It is 35 m high. At the Rodter Höhe you can enjoy a fantastic view of the entire Black Forest area. Depending on the weather, the view extends over the Neckar foothills to the Swabian Alb.

    Rafting path

Our children don't like hiking very much, but on this hike (10 kilometers) they love the story of Felix and especially the view as well as taking a break at Vogtsmichelhof and using the playground.

The rafting path begins at the Loßburg/ Zauberland outdoor swimming pool. From Loßburg you first go downhill in the forest towards Alpirsbach. Along the Kinzig, through the forest and through one of the most beautiful Black Forest valleys. Simply follow the rafters' own signs. Along the entire route you will learn a lot about the history of rafting through many display boards and a real raft, which is also ideal for a first picnic. Refreshed, we then continue through the valley, across meadows and fields and past old farms. For the little ones, in addition to the numerous information boards about the work of the raftsmen, there are also boards about the fairy tale “Felix and the Hat”.

The last panel can be found below the “ Vogtsmichelhof ” vespers room. It's worth taking a leisurely break here to strengthen yourself for the last part of the route. The Vogtsmichelhof not only offers good food, but is also very popular with children. There is a nice playground where you can run around while the adults can relax with cider and beer. From here we continue down the valley to the monastery town of Alpirsbach.

Of course you can also do the route by bicycle/mountain bike. Or the children take the bikes while the parents hike. The only difficult section is near the beginning, as it is a bit steep through the forest. If you hiked hiking holiday in the Black Forest

Audio guide for the rafting trail

If you want, you can download an audio guide . There are two versions available here: A version for adults in which the story of the raftsman Johann Staiger is told and which is supplemented by the many information boards. Another version is an extra children's version in which Johann Staiger's son, Uli Staiger, tells his story.

    Geocaching

If you like geocaching or would like to try it out, you can borrow a device from the Loßburg tourist information center. On the route between Loßburg and Wolfach, 4 GPS puzzles invite you to hunt for treasure. For each puzzle solved there is a stamp on the raftsman stamp card, which you can get from the tourist information center. This means you can also complete the rafting path in stages. Maybe from Loßburg to Alpirsbach and work your way through to Wolfach in further day trips.
