    Forest and Bnchlewald adventure trail

    Bächlewald forest and adventure trail

The path is open all year round and is 5.3 km long. It takes 2-3 hours depending on how much the children dawdle. The route is not suitable for strollers.

The best place to park is at the Waldsee car park. From here the forest adventure trail well signposted.

From the parking lot you walk 1.3 km through the forest to the forest nature trail. Here you will repeatedly pass educational boards with explanations of individual trees and plants. The adventure trail connects to the nature trail. It's always slightly uphill, but it's easily doable. Even our youngest (3.5 years old) had no problems with the route. Of course, the most interesting thing for the kids is when the actual path finally begins, where they can try out things at numerous stations and climb.

There are “climbing frames” made of tree trunks, balancing beams and a long jump box where you can simultaneously see which animals jump how far, a tree telephone and a seesaw.

After the seesaw and the “balancing beam” you can take the path back downhill to the forest lake and come out again near the parking lot. If you still feel like strengthening yourself, the Waldseeterrasse restaurant recommended. The cake is very good. Please do not arrive too late, as the cake unfortunately sells out quickly when the weather is nice. The warm dishes are also recommended. The children can still play in the playground, watch the ducks and fish on the lake and if you still have time and feel like it, you can try out the mini golf course, which is right next to the restaurant.

Hike to the Urenkopf observation tower

If you still feel like taking a short hike after the forest adventure trail, you can walk up to the Urenkopf observation tower . It is the highest mountain in Haslach and is around 554 meters high. The 40 m high tower was built at the end of 2014 and with 183 steps it offers a wonderful view. From the Waldsee parking lot it is not far to the concentration camp memorial and you can park there or you can walk across the forest from the Waldsee parking lot and reach the observation tower in 45 minutes.

    Silver mine blessing from God

Historic mine in the Black Forest

The old silver mine "Blessing of God" in the Schnellingen district is one of the most important traditional mines in the Black Forest. It is even sung about in the Badnerlied. The “Blessing of God” mine is based on an 800-year-old mining tradition. There are fluorspar veins in the mine that are very beautiful. Crystal druses, sinter and stalactites can be found almost nowhere else in the Black Forest, visible in a visitor mine. The carved tunnels are in very good condition and are a worthwhile target in the pit.
