In intuitive painting it is not about putting a lot of effort into depicting something that has been "learned", but rather about giving expression to the unconscious; originally like a child, free from guidelines and constraints.

In his workshops and courses he invites you to switch from reason to feeling and to surrender to the intuitive process of your own creative power in order to discover the healing and liberating effects of intuitive painting. Each participant takes their work (canvas on a stretcher frame 50x40 cm) home with them.

The MERZOLIO studio is located on the Fräulinsberg at 530 m above sea level, which belongs to the municipality of Schenkenzell in the Middle Black Forest / Kinzigtal.
The former barn, located on a small plateau, is surrounded by forests and meadows with a wonderful view of the Alpirsbacher Sulzberg. A place of power to let go, relax and enjoy!

This is where the intuitive works are created, whose positive energies - also thanks to the unique idyll - continue to inspire the artist as well as the course participants and guests.

Uwe Merz, born in the Ruhr area in 1963, has lived in the Black Forest / Kinzigtal since 1990. The trained graphic designer initially devoted himself to classic advertising, later finding his way to expressive, intuitive painting.

The pseudonym »MERZOLIO« arose from the surname “Merz” and the initial use of oil paints »Olio«. The artist works primarily with acrylic paints using different spatula techniques. As a carrier material, he discovered aluminum dibond as an interesting alternative - in addition to the classic canvas.

His works reflect the artist's current state of mind and invite reflection.

In order to be able to better accompany his painting courses in intuitive painting, Uwe Merz took part in training to become a naturopath for psychotherapy in 2009-2010.

Uwe Merz himself paints objects in acrylic and oil on canvas, Dibond material, plexiglass or other materials. He also makes individual objects in the customer's desired colors and size, which are intended for a specific room or a vacant space in the home or office.

In his studio in Schenkenzell / Rottweil district, he regularly conducts painting courses in intuitive painting for groups or individuals, offers more in-depth soul painting, and conducts intuition seminars, in which intuitive painting is also part of the seminar. He also offers topic-specific intuitive painting for children.

With his art “Art on Panel” (see ART ON PANEL) he has created a completely new way to combine industrial design language and segments of expressive spatula painting techniques through digital composing. This type of art opens up almost unlimited creative possibilities.

Today he works as an artist, course and seminar leader, musician in solo and band projects and continues to work as a graphic designer in his own advertising agency. In addition, he has published the book "Mettgefrischer" as well as his volume of poetry "Merzblut" and has developed and reviews meditation CDs.
