The market town of Haslach is a beautiful, historic half-timbered old town with lovely shops and charming restaurants, well worth a visit. Haslach is also a great starting point for hiking and as a base for your active holiday.
Directions: Haslach im Kinzigtal is located 30 km south of Alpirsbach, near your group accommodation in the Black Forest . You can reach it in half an hour and park in the Waldsee parking lot (towards Freiburg, turn right shortly after the town sign). It's a very scenic drive along the Kinzig River, which gives the valley its name and runs parallel to the road.
Since train travel in the Black Forest is free with the KONUS card, it's worth considering this alternative from your wellness holiday home . The journey from Alpirsbach station to Haslach station takes 34 minutes. The OSB (Oberland Bernois Railway) runs the Kinzig Valley line every hour. From Haslach station, you can reach the Waldsee parking lot, a central starting point, in 20 minutes. So you can set off directly from your Black Forest holiday apartment . Here you'll also find great accommodations for your family holiday in the Black Forest .

Our guests receive the Konus card, which allows them to use local public transport in the Black Forest free of charge.

If you are looking for a holiday apartment with a sauna , then the Traumferienwohnung Hochschwarzwald in Schonach worth a look.

The trail is open year-round and is 5.3 km long. It takes 2-3 hours to complete, depending on how much the children dawdle. The trail is not suitable for strollers.
The best place to park is at the Waldsee parking lot. From here, the forest adventure trail well signposted.
From the parking lot, walk 1.3 km through the forest to the nature trail. Along the way, you'll find informative panels explaining individual trees and plants. The adventure trail connects to the nature trail. It's a gentle uphill climb, but easily manageable. Even our youngest (3.5 years old) had no trouble with the route. Of course, the most exciting part for kids is when the main trail finally begins, where they can try things out at numerous stations and climb around.
There are “climbing frames” made of tree trunks, balance beams and a long jump box where you can simultaneously see which animals jump how far, a tree telephone and a seesaw.
After the seesaw and the balance beam, you can take the path back downhill to the lake and emerge near the parking lot. If you're still in the mood for refreshments, the Waldseeterrasse restaurant highly recommended. The cakes are excellent. Please don't arrive too late, as they tend to sell out quickly on sunny days. The hot dishes are also worth trying. Children can play on the adjacent playground, watch the ducks and fish in the lake, and if you have the time and inclination, you can try the mini-golf course located right next to the restaurant.
Anyone who still has the energy for a short hike after exploring the forest adventure trail can climb up to the Urenkopf observation tower . It's the highest point in Haslach, standing at approximately 554 meters. Built at the end of 2014, the 40-meter-high tower, with its 183 steps, offers magnificent panoramic views. From the parking lot at Waldsee (Forest Lake), it's a short walk to the former concentration camp memorial, where you can park. Alternatively, you can walk from the Waldsee parking lot across the forest and reach the observation tower in about 45 minutes.

The old silver mine "Segen Gottes" (God's Blessing) in the Schnellingen district is one of the most important traditional mines in the Black Forest. It is even mentioned in the Baden anthem. The "Segen Gottes" mine is based on an 800-year-old mining tradition. The mine contains beautiful veins of fluorspar. Crystal geodes, sinter, and stalactites can be found here, as almost nowhere else in the Black Forest, visible in a visitor mine. The hewn tunnels are in very good condition and are a worthwhile destination within the mine.

For reservations, please call Gasthaus zur Blumen at +49 7832 9125-0. Admission: €5; children aged 4 and over: €3, reduced price with a spa card. For those of you who appreciate museums with local exhibits, we recommend a visit to the Costume Museum. You can gain an excellent insight into the development of Black Forest costumes at the "Old Capuchin Monastery," which houses the Black Forest Costume Museum. The area around the monastery is also very beautiful.
To this day, Heinrich Hansjakob, the son of a Haslach citizen, remains one of the most widely read authors in Baden. He was one of the most prolific German writers of his time, authoring 74 books. Admission to the Costume Museum also includes entry to the Freihof.

Incidentally, our designer holiday home only a few kilometers from Haslach, making the recommendations on this page ideal for exploring from there.
