The Kniebis district is Freudenstadt's winter sports resort. Cross-country skiing and downhill skiing are the main attractions here and on the Black Forest High Road in winter. Hiking is wonderful in summer. All this is available very close to your dream holiday home or luxury apartment .

Welcome to the wilderness of the Northern Black Forest. Here you can enjoy pristine nature in a variety of ways, get active in the fresh air, and experience the forest firsthand. This is the Black Forest National Park. The majority of the forests within the national park area will be allowed to develop freely in the future, without human intervention. This means: embracing the wilderness! You can find numerous examples of what hiking in the Black Forest so special on our website.

The nature trail is an adventure trail through the forest area devastated by Hurricane Lothar (1999). It's great fun for children. It's unsuitable for strollers and is located on the B500, 3.5 kilometers from Schliffkopf in the direction of Freudenstadt. Parking and a bus stop (see bus schedule below) are located directly at the entrance to the Lothar Trail. It is 20 kilometers from Freudenstadt. Admission is free.

The Lynx Trail

The Lynx Trail showcases the forest as a lynx would see it. This adventure trail is 4 kilometers long and leads through various woodlands. Information panels and play stations provide plenty of fun, especially for children. Parking is available at Plättig, B 500.

The Wilderness Trail

The 4.5-kilometer-long wilderness trail was created in 1999 when storm-damaged timber was cleared after Storm Lothar. Everything here is quite wild, and it's great fun to hike the trail. Parking is available at Plättig, B 500.

Guided tours, seminars, and hikes for groups and individuals can be found on the National Park's website . Visitor Center: Black Forest National Park, Schwarzwaldhochstraße 2, 77889 Seebach. Open until 5:00 p.m.
