Detailed description

Would you like to spend your holiday in a monument? Get to know the historic holiday home? Do you enjoy holidays in a monument with the special ambience of holiday homes in historic walls? Then you are in the right place here in the Black Forest - let your dream of a holiday in this extraordinary holiday home become reality! Here, "back to the roots" becomes reality.

Monument holidays in the "Gerberhäusle" - Black Forest history to live in

This unusual holiday home is a half-timbered house dating from 1783 and is quietly located in Alpirsbach's old town on the gently babbling Kinzig River.

It is a listed building and has been lovingly and painstakingly restored by hand in recent years. Natural building materials were used to preserve the building fabric. All floors in the rooms are made of wooden floorboards or natural stone. Together with the wood-panelled walls, the visible half-timbering and the coffered ceiling in the living room, this creates the particularly homely atmosphere of the architectural monument. Almost all the furniture in the holiday flat is handmade and unique.

"Every time I enter the Gerberhaus, I feel transported back to another - historic - time. To the time of the rustic Black Forest stories and traditions around the rafting and the tannery. This is one of those extraordinary accommodations where this can be lived in and felt as a guest." If you like the Gerberhaus, it's worth taking a look at the Holiday flat Titisee.

Enjoy our new 360° tour of the luxurious holiday flats in the Black Forest!

Wellness in the historic walls of the Gerberhaus

After an eventful day in the Black Forest, take a few saunas in your private outdoor sauna, then go out for dinner in one of the excellent Alpirsbach restaurants within walking distance and enjoy the crackling fireplace in the historic walls of the "Gerberhäusle" with a glass of wine. Or you can take a full bath in your holiday home bathtub.

In summer you can enjoy the quiet babbling of the Kinzig and the birdsong on your terrace.

There are numerous thermal baths in our region in the south of Germany. In the area around Alpirsbach, there is the Panoramabad in Freudenstadt, a swimming pool with sauna area and wellness spa. Or you can visit the thermal baths in Baden-Baden and Bad Wildbad.

Review of our short holiday in the Gerberhaus in Alpirsbach

Rated 5 out of 5
17 October 2020

From the outside, the Gerberhäuschen presents itself in a very authentic way.
From the inside, it is absolutely clean and well-kept. Keeping these quaint walls so carefully clean is a great art .... everything was really spotless!!!!
As we enter, we are greeted by a cosy warmth, enough space for shoes, a view into the creatively and practically furnishedbathroom with a large whirlpool bath, immediately to the left the large and spacious bedroom...and a view into the beautiful, natural garden with terrace. We discover the sauna outside, a wonderful place to warm up and relax.
The steep stairs are easy to climb, step by step.
Once at the top, the comfortably furnished kitchen invites you to prepare and cook. All the necessary electrical appliances are there and we didn't miss the dishwasher.
Next is the dining area with enough cosy space at the large table and with storage. The spacious living area is adjacent and the stove is a special fixture, spreading wonderful warmth. It may be necessary to turn down the heating a little, otherwise it gets too warm.
In the attic, a very large bedroom with integrated glass shower bath awaits us, a very successful composition!
One staircase higher, there are more sleeping spaces, but we didn't use them....
So, we were extremely satisfied with everything and wish all other guests an equally successful time as we had.

Dreamlike family weekend

30 May 2021

We had a super family weekend in the Gerberhaus and felt completely at home. It is in a very idyllic location in the old town of Alpirsbach with its shops and many restaurants nearby. There are great opportunities for day hikes from the house. We recommend the Gerberhaus to families even with very young children!

We had three wonderful ones in the Gerberhaus and finally a change of location after all the hardships in the Lockdown. The old half-timbered house also suited our three toddlers very well.
