The Oberbrändi wooden house was ideal for us as a family (7 adults, 3 children and a dog) in terms of space. The kitchen was adequately equipped, we would have liked a second television (in the basement or upper floor). (The satellite reception was very poor - but that could also be due to the rainy weather) The entire interior was well maintained, there was water damage on the left outside wall/ceiling in the washroom in the basement , which should be inspected.
We found the stairs outside to be very special because they were under water and difficult for children and older people to climb.
All in all, we felt comfortable and can recommend this house to families.

Beautiful and attractive house with all amenities. We were two families (9 people) so the number of bedrooms (4) was just enough. There are more beds available, but then you sleep with several people in one bedroom. The area is beautiful for hiking and cycling. In 6 minutes by car you can reach the bakery and supermarket. Other activities are a little further away, but that's not insurmountable. We will come back in any case.

The house was clean, everything needed was there. The check in and check out took place independently, but without any problems. We received all important information in advance by email. The size is suitable for up to 10 people. The entrance is accessible via stairs, but is not suitable if you have problems walking. Overall we are very satisfied. Also suitable for dogs, the field is not far away for a walk. A more detailed list of what belongs in which trash would be practical.

Quiet location!

We went to the Holzhaus Oberbrändi for three days as part of a mathematical seminar at the University of Konstanz. The organization ran smoothly and there was enough space for the 13 students and me. The location of the holiday home is excellent; You can quickly get to Loßburg or Freudenstadt, there are beautiful hiking trails around the house. The accommodation was well received by everyone and there were no problems of any kind. Gladly again!

We stayed as a group in the Holzhaus Oberbrändi and immediately felt very comfortable there. The kitchen is well equipped for self-catering. The three bathrooms also leave nothing to be desired for a group of up to 14 people. Only the sofa and the dining table group could be a little larger for the number of people, but with a little creativity this problem could also be quickly solved.
The sauna was very well received by our group and the beds are comfortable and offer enough space. Gladly again!

The accommodation was easy to find and check-in was contactless and uncomplicated. Nice big house with enough space and plenty of bathrooms/seats etc. Sauna, whirlpool tub, grill, raclette, fireplace, terrace furniture... Everything is there to spend a few days there... The place offers great walking and hiking trails.
A few small things could be replaced (e.g. couch, garden, outdoor lighting), but otherwise everything was to our satisfaction .

Everything was perfect for us...we had snow and sun and were able to relax in the sauna and in front of the fireplace. We had our 4 dogs with us and we were able to walk with them directly from the house. It is very quiet in this small place, perfect for relaxing. The manager of the house was very friendly and helped with problems easily...

Overall, a beautiful house in wonderful surroundings, but cosmetic repairs and optimizations should be made in various places.
Due to our good experiences with the “Luxuschalet Salzenweiler”, we decided again on a Black Forest holiday home, but we would not book the “Holzhaus Oberbrändi” again.
Positive:
- very nice location with great hiking and excursion opportunities
- good infrastructure , easy access to shopping
- good room layout in the house;
We were only two people so we only used the first floor, but there is space for significantly more people - bathrooms and refrigerator were very clean
Negative:
- Explanation about using the sauna is misleading;
To do this you have to go to the “basement room” and work on the fuse box. In addition, the sauna was quite dirty when we arrived and there was mold on the inside wall. Using the sauna after dark is also not recommended as there is no lighting and access is not optimal. The garden and sauna are not protected from view. - The whirlpool tub could not be used because there was no remote control
- The kitchen floor was very dirty and was probably forgotten during cleaning
- The access to the front door is not ideal in the dark due to the defective outside lighting, as you can't see anything here and can easily fall
- on the upper floor (Gallery) - which we didn't use - it smelled terribly like food;
Food smells also cling to the fabric couch on the "main floor" including the pillows - the house is generally getting old and has several small defects (window in the toilet is broken, part of the outside lighting is broken, the toilet seat in the main bathroom is past its best, the couch worn out)

The house was ok, some defects: residual waste bin very full, very unpleasant at 30 degrees, some things broken (photos available), both garden gates don't close, hole in the fence (we have dogs), dishes weren't very clean, parasol broken, there should be A little investment needs to be made 🙂 Rest ok, beds and fuel tank and equipment also ok.

Our vacation was really nice and the house was just great! The facilities are great!

The wooden house is really nice, well equipped, you have everything you would need.
Very quiet location on the edge of the village with many opportunities to experience nature. Just a few little things, namely, very weak WiFi signal in the basement, mosquitoes in the pond, no asphalt parking lot, some confusion with the hot water device when there wasn't enough hot water for 10 people to shower .
The floorboards in the kitchen kept falling out. Everything is managed by holiday rental company who were not too helpful when we reported these issues. Normally we expect someone to explain everything to us in person, like with the other holiday homes. We only received the guest cards on the last day, apparently due to a technical problem at the responsible office, even though we sent all the information two weeks before arrival, as requested. Overall, the stay was nice and relaxing, the children also had a lot of fun, recommended 🙂

... we would like to get rid of a few things:
- the whirlpool doesn't work, there is a whirlpool mat that you can put in it instead.
It's a shame that we aren't informed about this in any way in advance, because the whirlpool was one of the criteria why we chose the Oberbrändi wooden house. - The fully automatic coffee machine in the photos in the description is not there.
- There is a well-sorted set of rules, a lot of what you should pay attention to (e.g. strict waste separation) and what you are not allowed to do (operate music systems outdoors) and what you should stick to (night quiet from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.).
Unfortunately, the garbage can in front of the house was already overflowing when we arrived, you could clearly see that the garbage hadn't been sorted and on the first night there was free music from the neighbors until midnight. - The underfloor heating in the kitchen cannot be regulated, the only solution is to turn off the fuse, otherwise it will heat all night long.
- we found the leftovers from our predecessors in the oven.
- the oven with microwave function, its peculiarities that you should know in advance.
The description could not be found. - super nice and helpful employee of the rental company, who willingly helped us despite being on vacation (his cell phone number was on the phone for emergencies) - although we shouldn't have called him, but rather contacted the landlords via the method that was communicated to us by email .
By the way, we are now supposed to pay for a special pan that we have never used - let alone seen (€38.77). Apparently we also didn't sort the garbage, so we were charged an extra 30 minutes of effort for €17.70 We sorted the garbage as described and seriously: how much garbage can 4 people produce in less than 4 days?!
Oh and apparently we left a lot of sand in the sauna, which we now have to pay €11.80 for, even though we didn't even enter the sauna and the light was still on when we arrived, which we then turned on with the light switch. which is installed outside, have been switched off. We seriously wonder if anyone even cleaned the house before we arrived.
In our opinion, this person should not have overlooked the light and the sand in the sauna, the unsorted garbage and the missing pan (and also the leftover food in the oven). We feel that we are not being treated fairly in this regard and, to put it in German, we feel that we have been a bit taken for a ride. We would also like to emphasize: the Holzhaus Oberbrändi is a great holiday home with lots of sleeping and retreat options. We felt very comfortable. The town of Oberbrändi is very quiet and cute. You can go on great trips from there. It was a really great vacation.

We had enough space with 2 families. We didn't miss anything. The only suggestion for improvement would be some nice patio furniture, unfortunately the seating on the patio was very simple (beer tent set).

A great house. We thought the open concept was great. A fantastic tiled stove. We had ordered wood, but unfortunately there were no spatulas for lighting, which made it extremely difficult. A nice, rustic sauna, but unfortunately it couldn't go higher than 80 degrees. Nevertheless, we would book the house again.

The Oberbrändi wooden house has wonderful charm and has two great terraces and a small balcony at the top. The town is quite sleepy, it's 5km to the nearest bakery or supermarket, you should know that. The wide meadows with lots of wild flowers and head-high grass and the Black Forest right in front of you invite you to go hiking and strolling; you can relax wonderfully and have pure peace and idyll.
Many leisure options are easily accessible by car, such as The Zauberhand and the observation tower in Lossburg, Freudenstadt with great hikes, the Kniebis and the Barfußpark with mini golf and beach volleyball field. All of this is under a 20 minute drive. The Glatt moated castle is a little further, but should not be missed under any circumstances. The cakes are not only impressive because of their immense size but also because of their top quality. In Oberbrändi itself there is also a playground with the most beautiful view and a cable car that is not only fun for children. The old church is an insider tip. The nice neighbor with his chickens to cuddle with was also a great plus. The only thing that was missing was comfortable seating on the terrace. The worn-out beer set was already halfway suitable for 8 people to have breakfast with only a side table and in no way invited people to linger comfortably in or around the house when the weather was nice. The garden is already full with play equipment for small children and the small sauna and also offers no space to relax. Inside you could play wonderfully, both at the large dining table with a rustic corner bench and on the comfortable sofa. When the sun is shining, the surroundings are far too tempting to spend too much time mourning the outdoor lounge furniture, so only one point is deducted. Otherwise just rustic, cozy and beautiful :)

The house is simply great, is also very well equipped, you can find everything you need there. However, there were twelve of us there, only adults, as there was supposed to be room for up to 15 people, the upper sleeping places can only be used for children. And the table in the dining room is unfortunately clearly too small, there was only room for eight people. Otherwise we were thrilled.

We, a group of 7 adult women and a medium-sized dog, immediately felt at home in the cozy Oberbrändi wooden house. We were happy that it was a bit remote because we were more into nature. The supply in the neighboring town of Loßburg is excellent. We really liked Conni's cheese factory with its unpackaged shop, where we could not only buy fresh products ( the yoghurt is one of them) but also marvel at calves.
Afterwards a walk in the forest with a stop at the Tannen-Stub for top-notch cakes. Back in the house, we made the wood stove work (a slightly better description would be worth thinking about and a supply of lighters wouldn't be a bad idea) and the rustic outdoor sauna was put into operation, which was very easy (it's better to take a flashlight with you on the way back into the house). In the evening, raclette (a machine was even on site) with racletti cheese from Conni in the beautiful dining area, which offered ideal space for us. Afterwards, get together on the comfortable couch and then have a good night's sleep in the allergy-free bed linen. The room layout was ideal for us. The dog also quickly acclimatised and felt comfortable. The outside should be inspected again and repaired because there are gaps, e.g. B. right at the top right of the entrance door, through which a medium-sized dog can escape. We had a bit of a hard time with the garbage system because, in my opinion, the description in the notice board in the apartment downstairs and in the travel documents are different/misunderstanding. We would perhaps suggest a clearer description directly at the location in the basement, but we probably did everything right because when we contacted the landlord at any time, nothing negative came back 🙂 The transaction with the landlord also went well. We definitely recommend this beautiful house.

The Holzhaus Oberbrändi is a beautiful holiday home in which we spent a great weekend with friends. The furnishings are cozy, with a great feel-good factor. The open dining-living area in particular invites you to sit together, play games, chat and is particularly great for large groups. Check-in is super easy via a lock on the terrace.
The sauna is the absolute highlight of the house. However, there were also some negative points that I would like to address:
- the mattresses were quite remote and the pillows were very uncomfortable - some of us had back pain when we woke up
- there were cobwebs in the corners of the room - they could do with a more thorough cleaning
- There are various hidden costs that you don't notice at first glance when booking: e.g. the fireplace can only be used for a fee, bed linen and towels are also not included, every cigarette butt in the garden costs an extra €7 for cleaning (unfortunately We found some when we arrived that weren't ours - so if so, please be consistent or don't write something like that into your house rules!) -
we were promised a later checkout at 11 a.m., which was later canceled again
- overall The price is quite reasonable... we would come back because of the house, but the price was just too steep for a self-catering hut!
